FISCAL SPONSORSHIP PROGRAM
The Ibero-American Film Arts & Festival Foundation (IBAFAF) offers fiscal sponsorship to filmmakers developing projects connected to the Ibero-American creative community.

Through this program, selected projects may raise funds through tax-deductible donations and grants under the nonprofit status of IBAFAF, while benefiting from the cultural network and industry platform created by the Ibero-American Film Festival Miami (IAFFM).

Fiscal sponsorship provides filmmakers with the administrative structure necessary to access philanthropic funding while allowing them to maintain full creative control over their work. Our goal is to support the development and international visibility of Ibero-American cinema and emerging audiovisual voices.
What is fiscal sponsorship?

Fiscal sponsorship is a partnership between a nonprofit organization and an independent creative project that does not have its own tax-exempt status. Through this relationship, the project may receive charitable donations and grant funding, while the nonprofit organization provides financial administration and oversight.

For filmmakers, this structure makes it possible to access funding opportunities that typically require affiliation with a nonprofit entity, without the need to create and manage a nonprofit organization for a single production.

The program allows filmmakers to focus on their creative work while benefiting from the credibility and administrative support of an established cultural institution.
Our mission
The IBAFAF Fiscal Sponsorship Program supports film and audiovisual projects that contribute to the cultural richness and international presence of Ibero-American storytelling.
We prioritize projects that:

-
Showcase Ibero-American perspectives and cultural narratives
-
Are led by filmmakers from Ibero-American countries
-
Promote artistic innovation within independent cinema
-
Contribute to meaningful cultural dialogue through film

Projects may qualify through:
-
bero-American direction
-
Ibero-American production or co-production
-
Ibero-American creative leadership
-
Stories centered on Ibero-American communities or cultural themes

How the program works

Once a project is accepted into the IBAFAF Fiscal Sponsorship Program:

1. The project may raise funds through tax-deductible donations under the nonprofit umbrella of IBAFAF.
2. The foundation provides financial administration and oversight for funds raised.
3. Filmmakers maintain full creative control and ownership of their project.
4. Projects gain access to the cultural network and professional ecosystem of IBAFAF & IAFFM.

Fiscal sponsorship does not mean that IBAFAF directly finances the project. Instead, it enables filmmakers to access a wider range of donors, grants, foundations, and philanthropic support.
